Honoring Our Roots, Healing Our Future: SEEAWA at ESEA Festival Battersea

Participating in the ESEA Festival at Battersea as part of Hilot Panubli led by our Operations Manager Jutheanne /Alab Sikat, and Finance officer Florence was nothing short of deeply inspiring. In a world that often moves too fast, gathering in community to honor ancestral Filipino healing practices felt like a homecoming.

Throughout the festival, our hands were busy, but our hearts were full. Meeting people from all walks of life, listening to their stories, feeling their stress melt away under the intentional touch of Hilot, and seeing their curiosity about traditional Filipino medicine light up reminded us why this work matters so deeply. Hilot is more than a massage; it is an act of communal love, energetic realignment, and cultural preservation.

The energy at Battersea clearly demonstrated that there is a profound hunger for authentic, root-level healing. That inspiration is now driving SEEAWA into our next chapter.

Looking ahead, SEEAWA is committed to providing structured Hilot training programs specifically designed for women. By equipping women with the skills and traditional knowledge of Hilot, we aim to cultivate self-reliance, preserve indigenous wellness wisdom, and create practical opportunities for women to heal themselves and support their communities.

Our heritage is our strength, and when women are empowered with the tools of ancestral healing, the entire community rises. Stay tuned for upcoming training schedules; we can’t wait to embark on this learning journey with you.
